Finn McCool’s Surf School is the only dedicated surf school in Dingle town. We provide a friendly, safe and fun introduction to the exhilarating sport of surfing. Using our FREE “surf-bus” we will pick you up from Finn McCool’s Surf Shop and take you over the breathtaking Conor Pass to our main base of operations at Kilcummin on Brandon Bay. Kilcummin gives us unparalleled consistent waves while still offering unbeatable safety. Its pretty much the perfect wave for beginners and children.
Our surf school is ISA (Irish Surfing Association) approved, fully insured and we use qualified local surf instructors and beach lifeguards. We are proud to be a Billabong approved surf school which means we use only top of the line equipment at the safest beaches in Kerry.
Our surf lessons, kids surf camps, school surf tours, and stag & hen party packages run daily and we cater for kids and adults of all surf and fitness levels. Each lesson lasts approximately 3 hours and includes your free return trip to the beach, a general beach safety course, full instruction both in and out of the water and the hire of your board and wetsuit.

Some places may not care about safety and accreditation, but we pride ourselves on offering only the most professional surf lessons & coaching sessions. We use a dedicated small student/instructor ratio that keeps safety as it’s top priority and ensures that you get expert tuition throughout your lesson. We use soft, safe ISA Approved surfboards that are easy to learn on and 5/3mm Billabong wetsuits to keep you warm. We are all about QUALITY not quantity.
Our group lessons are designed for beginner to intermediate level surfers. Whether this is your first surf experience or you are looking to improve your technique, our group lessons offer you the best value tuition there is.
First time surfers can expect to learn the easiest and correct methods of standing up on a surfboard, basic surfing techniques, safe board handling in the water, and general water safety awareness – essential knowledge and skills for taking your surfing to the next level. There really is nothing quite like catching that very first wave!
Our max class size is 16 with a minimum of two instructors so you will never be left alone in the water. The price includes your board and wetsuit hire, FREE transfers from Dingle town to the beach and 2 hours of full tuition.
Lesson Times: Choose from either 9:30am or 1pm. (Extra daily sessions may be available, just ask.)
Lesson Duration: 3hrs including transport to the beach.
What to bring: Swimming costume, towel, sunscreen and possibly a snack for after.
Extras: Receive 10% Off in Finn McCool’s Surf Shop on the day of your lesson.

We run super fun Kids Surf Camps during the Easter break and also during the Summer Holidays in June, July & August.
We specialise in getting kids surfing and are proud to have played a part in getting hundreds of children from all over the world into the sport of riding waves. Our Kids surf camps offer a gentle, safe and exciting introduction to the world of surfing as well as the beach environment. Safety first as our kids learn about – tides, rips, dangers, hazards, weather, water saftey, surf etiquette and of course surfing! When surfing conditions are inadequate, alternative activities are provided.
All kids finish the week with a Finn McCool’s & Billabong approved surf course certificate. Also look out for our Gaelic Language Camps held in mid summer – a great way to learn Irish and surfing at the same time.

Age Restrictions: Surf Camps are for children aged between 8 and 16. Children under the age of 8 may join but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Our Stag & Hen packages are a great way to bond a party together and give that blushing bride or groom to be an experience they will never forget. We can work to your schedule and even pick you up from your accommodation in Dingle.
The price includes your board and wetsuit hire, FREE transfers from Dingle town to the beach and 2 hours of full tuition. Pricing depends on your group size, however if you pay in advance the bride or groom goes for FREE.
Surfing is a great hangover cure or way to build up the thirst for the porter so don’t delay and book your ultimate stag or hen party activity now!
