Finn McCool’s Surf Company is proud to offer full surf tuition through our partners at the West Coast Surf School. The West Coast Surf School is the Dingle Peninsula’s longest running surf school with over 10 years experience in teaching adults and children how to surf. All of our instructors are ISA (Irish Surfing Association) approved. We use only the most up to date equipment at the safest beaches in Kerry and most importantly, we are fully insured.

Unlike other surf schools we move to where the swell is offering the best conditions, so you can sometimes find us on Inch Beach or Bana Strand but our main base of operations is at Kilcummin on Brandon Bay. Kilcummin gives us unparalleled consistent waves while still offering unbeatable safety. Its pretty much the perfect wave for beginners and children.

We offer lessons for every standard of surfer, from the complete novice to intermediate level or individual masterclasses – you’ll find something to fit your needs. Each lesson lasts 2 hours and includes a general beach safety course, full instruction both in and out of the water and of course the hire of your board and wetsuit. You will receive tuition throughout the duration of your lesson – when we say 2 hours we mean it!

Adult Group Lessons

Our adult group lessons are designed for beginner to intermediate level surfers. Whether this is your first surf experience or you are looking to improve your technique, the Adult Group Lesson offers you the best value tuition there is. Also ideal for large groups such as stag or hen parties and corporate events.

Adult Surf Course

By the end of your 2 hour lesson you'll be paddling into waves and standing up.

This three day course comprehensively covers all the basics of surfing and more. You’ll be schooled in all the essentials of surfing from the pop, paddling, duck diving, turning and advanced techniques. Each lesson is 2 hours long and can be taken over a weekend or on non sequential days.
Price: €75.00.

Surf Safari Masterclass

For experienced surfers only. We’ll take you off the beaten track to some of the peninsulas hidden breaks and give you hints and tips on how to improve your style. This option comes with an upgraded epoxy board.
Price: €55.00

Kids Lessons and Summer Surf Camps

We specialise in getting kids surfing and are proud to have played a part in getting hundreds on children from all over into the sport and riding waves. Our kids lessons start from Age 8 up and cover all the basics of surfing. Our instructors are all fully qualified lifeguards and kids are rarely in the water above waist height – safety is our number one concern.

Our summer kids camps are among the most subscribed to sports camps on the peninsula. The 5 day course not only covers the basics but gives extra schooling in surf fitness, etiquette & safety, as well as knowledge on wave formation and weather patterns. At the end of the week the child is presented with the West Coast Surf School diploma that is recognised at surf beaches world wide. The kids camps run from June-August from 10am-12pm and booking is essential.

Surf Bus

We also offer a shuttle bus to and from Dingle to the beach. A minimum number of people is required. Price: €5.00pp
