Just a quick message to introduce our new feature: Product Of The Week!

Every Monday we shall be selecting one item as our Product Of The Week and offering it to you at discounted prices – because we are nice like that! We will alternate between ladies and menswear and occasionally throw in some product from our hardware rage for you hardcore boys and girls out there.

As we are gentlemen here at Finn McCool’s it is ladies first. We have picked our favourite hoody of the season, the Animal Scarlette Hoody, which is super warm as it is fur lined throughout – something you need in this totally pants weather we are having. It comes in grey and cream and we are taking 15% off the price!

Also you may noticee we have made some small changes to the menus on the site so hopefully it is now easier to navigate and find the product you want. We hope you have noticed that we’ve recently expanded our range of Finn McCool’s Surf Company branded t-shirts and hoodies. We now carry 14 different colours and have included styles for women and groms (kids), a long side our classic range for the fellas. We are really proud of the new styles and we want YOU to show them off. That’s why today we are launching the #TeamMcCools initiative!

Over the past couple of months we have been asking our customers to send us pictures of themselves wearing their Finn McCool’s branded gear at their nearest beach, up a mountain, at their local monument – or basically anywhere they think is cool.

A few have responded and have sent us some great pics from some truly astounding landmarks. On this page alone you will see Alan Broderick showing off his McCool’s pride in front of the Opera House in Sydney. We also have Leigh Mullenger styling in his hoody at Finn McCool himself’s very own creation The Giants Causeway in County Antrim. And our favourite of all is a picture of Rita (just out of picture) and Gabi Smith taking her very first breaths wrapped up in one of her daddy Gareth’s tees. Amazing!

But this is surely just the tip of the iceberg. We have sold thousands of Finn McCool Tees and Hoodies over our ten years in business so we reckon you guys must have some great pictures in some amazing places hidden away and we want to see them.

THE 10th ANNUAL FUNK BALL!

We can’t believe its been 10 Years since we first had the mad notion of chucking on some tunes in the back of Danno’s Bar for a few of our mates. What started off as a chance for us to have a few scoops while listening to some head-bopping numbers has turned into one of the biggest party nights in the country with people clambering for tickets every year. Hell, we even got a mention on Today FM!

We’ve had some great DJs over the years, with the likes of Simpy from 110th Street, Aran and Ray from Shake all having a go behind the decks, before Shack Up’s Graham Dolan aka Stroller took over the reigns and became our resident headliner. And of course support has always been from Dingle’s own The Big Payback

Its been 10 fantastic years but we have come to the hard decision that this will be the last ever Funk Ball as it is time for something new we think. So there is no excuse for not coming along and getting your dance groove on like its the last party on Earth – it may just well be!

This year The Funk Ball will be held on Sunday the 6th of May at Danno’s Bar, Strand St. Expect the usual hedonistic vibe, with toe-tapping soul mashing into some big block party booty shaking beats by the end of the night.

Due to phenomenal demand are this year making The Funk Ball tickets available online for the first time. Tickets will cost €12 and will go on sale at 12pm on Monday the 23rd of April here at www.finnmccools.ie and will be limited to 4 tickets each. If you want a reminder of when they go on sale please sign up to our mailing list here.

The Funk Ball sells out every year so order your tickets early. There are always some disappointed faces every year – don’t let it be you.

A customer in the shop today said to their friend excitedly “its almost time for beach weather!” and we all collectively breathed a sigh of relief. We can’t wait for the sun to start pumping out some serious heat and the clocks going forward at the end of the month can’t come soon enough.

Summer stock is still arriving fast here at Finn McCool’s and today we are going to take the second of our in depth looks at the new ranges from our brands here in the shop. This time its the turn of Animal.

The Dersot based company has grown over the years and has cemented itself as one of our favourite brands. You just know what you are getting from them: unbelievably priced gear without any compromise in style and quality. And this seasons range is no different to that rule. Animal have pulled up their socks and have come up with some fantastic price-points that are sure to please everyone’s ever increasing tightening budgets.

This summer the Animal range for men is full of simple pieces in bright high impact colours such as the Embleton Hoody (right) or if you are a little more reserved it also comes in grey heather and black – there really is something for everyone. If you are looking for something a little more smart causal then try the Saltash Hooded Shirt, which is one of our favourite pieces of season.  There are some great bargains to be found in the range too. The Scrarrif short-sleeved button up shirt comes in at just €39.95 and looks great with these elasticated Walkshorts at just €34.95.

For the ladies Animal have managed to squeeze in a bit of fun into their style. Polka dots, fun stripes and bright pinks and blues will bring a smile to your wardrobe this summer. Our favourite piece is the Nicole rain jacket (left) which will brighten up any rainy day. The polka dot theme is continued into the bikinis such as the Juliette bikini that you can see on the model at the top of the page, and comes in at just €34.95. Also we think this flip-flop inspired t-shirt really encapsulates the spirit of the summer.

Talking of flip-flops Animal also has a great range of footwear this summer. There are lots of great styles of super comfy printed flip-flops to choose from as well as some awesome summer shoes that will look great with jeans or shorts. Can you believe it’s March already??? The evenings are already getting lighter and we’ve found ourselves leaving the scarves and gloves at home more often then not. Summer is on the way people, and thankfully, there is no stopping it.

The surest sign that Summer is on the way is the staggering amount of boxes arriving everyday here at Finn McCool’s. We are starting to build up quite the friendship with the UPS guy!

The shop is already filling up with the vibrant colours of summer. Grey has been replaced with bright blues, dark browns with light yellows and the blacks of winter with the pastels and floral prints of the spring.

Over the next few weeks we will be showcasing all the latest product from our major brands. And first up is Billabong.

The Australian giants have done it again, producing a range that has its roots based on the beach but also draws inspiration from streets of Paris and Milan. Billabong have seen that the surfers of the 80s, when they first grew as a brand, are now older and their style has grown with it.

Cool pastels and heathers are the order of the day in the menswear. We’re loving the dusky blues in this Density Zip Hoody and the warm grape of this Typhoon Hoody. Large logos have been replaced with stylish front photo print tees like the Asterisk T-Shirt or the wicket pop-art inspired print on the Quad Tee.

In the ladies range its all about keeping it loose and casual. Wide neck sweatshirts are back in a big way, our favourite of which is this sailor themed number. A look which is continued into the t-shirts and tank-tops. The swimwear is just starting to arrive too and the floral prints add a real feminine touch of class to your beach outfit.

We also have many items that are exclusive to our webshop and will not be found in store. There is some fantastic product including ladies handbags and boardshorts inspired by legend Bob Marley.

Never mind the plethora of toy and supermarket ads with annoying X-Factor kids on the TV at the moment, it has truly felt like Christmas has come early at Finn McCool’s this week as the first wave of orders from the new website have been packed and dispatched.

We’ve sent parcels as far and wide as Seattle in the United States and by now the first few packages should be arriving at the doors of our customers closer to home. Each one packed full of freebies and surprises.

We want to thank not only those who purchased from the site, but everyone who visited us, retweeted us or promoted us on Facebook – we really appreciate all the kind words. We had a truly successful launch that saw a 1000% rise in traffic, but we know that the hard work has only just begun.
